When the last breath escapes the weary corpse that is left of me; May it testify to the ocean-wide and upon the height of each mountain, that I was grateful. I was grateful to have met and to have known your kindness. I was grateful to have known compassion that has enriched me in countless ways. I was most grateful for your smiles that has brought me immensity and warmth, and lest I forget, I was also grateful for your abounding love that transcends through your caring arms which you oftentimes thrust around my limping shoulders.
I was grateful for the tender graze of your touches, sending me softly to slumber then awakening me once more.
I hope my last breath never finds me in remorseful sorrow, nor in depriving joy, nor in a gruesome void of the compliments that has gone un-acknowledged. Rather, may each moment from here on, find me giving thanks for that which I am thankful.
May each moment wherein a breath is taken, reminds us what a delicate token life is and how in only an instance, it can be no more.
It only takes a moment to say thank you, to say I love you, to say, you’re dearly treasured.—-
This is my moment, where with this breath, even if be it my last, –Ahhh…! You are celebrated, you are adored, and you are truly on the pedestal of my heart. May no breath be strong enough nor a moment last too long, to break apart the band that is our friendship.
