Month ago, I was one of the illustrious candidates among five prestigious scholars upon which the 2016 MECC Award was bestowed. The highlights are as follows:

The 1st MECCA Awards (Master of Excellence for Commitment to the Community and for Achievements.) celebration was launched on the 28th of July, 2004 at the Wine Cellars in Smyrna, Georgia. And today, the MECCA Awards continues as a tradition that salutes individuals who continues to render devotion and commitment to the community. This year’s MECCA Awards was held in the historic Community of East New York, Brooklyn, NY.
The MECCA Award includes A Certificate of Appreciation, following an official photoshoot and an interview to be featured in an article in the upcoming issue of Welcome Magazine.
I personally believe this award is only the first of many. See you at the next one, perhaps on the red carpet.
Foremost, I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge and express gratitude to Jesus Christ. Secondly, thank you to Reverend Lea O’Neal, and the committee of the 2016 MECCA Awards. (Pastor Oatmeal) and friends of Friends Christian Church. Lest I forget, my dear mother Chrisan, and friend and mentor, Tyrek Laing, who made it a priority to be in attendance. Family, friends, and well wishers who were there in spirit.
I’d like to wish a big congratulations to the other candidates. May God continue to bless and enrich our hearts as we genuinely continue to render services to our community.
